Can anyone tell me the best drugstore products for acne?
kaitlin asked:
So, i just bought the Clinique 3-Step Skin Care Routine (I’m a 3) and my acne really hasn’t made any attempts to go away. I think i’ve been patient. It’s been about 5-6 weeks, and nothing. So i was just wondering what cheap products i could get that might really work, or any home remedies you might know of.
Thanx =)

Acne Free – Daily Skin Care: Back To Basic
Thousands of people from all over the world suffer from acne, the skin disorder that affecting 70 to 95% teenagers during puberty period. Sadly to say this skin disorder not only affecting teenagers but also adults between the age of 20 to 50. Imagine if you suffer this skin disorder endlessly until your adult life. It cost you a lot from swollen and sore facial skin, feeling unhappy, gross, depress, less confidence and spending lots of money for skin care product and treatment.
Acne is a skin problem that affects most people during puberty when the hormonal changes occur. A male hormone called Testosterone in both men and women, and insulin-like growth factor are the two hormones most closely linked to acne. Testosterone stimulates the sebaceous glands of the skin to enlarge and produce oil called sebum. Too much sebum and dead skin cells often form a plug, block the pores and provide a breeding place for bacteria causing redness, swelling and bulges out from the skin.
Other factor that cause acne indirectly includes: dust, air pollution, stress, blood impurities, healthy diets, sleep deprivation, organ malfunction, lack of exercise and of course daily skin care habit.
The place where you live might also responsible factor that affecting your skin. When you live in a sub-tropic area or in a four season country, your skin might look better than those who live in a dessert or tropical region.
People who live in a dusty and highly polluted air region tend to suffer moreacne as if you don’t clean your face often, a heap of dirty air particles flying around the air and settling on the skin.
Moreover, dust and air pollution also bring the bacteria. Whenever the pores are clogged with sebum (excess oil) and dead skin cells, bacteria seize the chance and start harvesting in the sebaceous follicle. Before long, the follicle turns into a blackhead or whitehead (in mild cases), or even into pustules or papules (in severe forms of acne).
If you know the trick, having a great skin does not require a lot of time and money. Start with the basic daily skin care routine such as washing your face, hair and body everyday. Choose the right product that matches your skin type.
Most acne-prone skin type is categorized under an oily or mixed skin type. For this type of skin choose a mild liquid soap or for women a cleansing milk with no alcohol and fragrance content. The alcohol and fragrance might irritate your skin and makes your acne worse.
Try using a natural aromatherapy skin care products such as Eucalyptus shampoo, Eucalyptus shower or body gel and/or Eucalyptus body milk if your skin became so dry especially during winter time.
Apply a collagen mask at least twice a week or if you are experiencing severe acne do it three times a week. Make sure that you wash your face first prior applying the mask and set aside the collagen. Don’t waste the collagen as you can apply them to your breast (for women) to keep it firm and soft and other part of the body that tends to dry easily such as your elbow or your heel. The pimples will be dried off and left no scar on the skin, and you will also having a firm and healthy glowing skin.
You can also use a mild soft scrub lotion to clean all the dead skin that might accumulated on the surface of your skin at least once a week. This step is not recommended if you are having severe acne such as pustules or papules as the scrubbing might irritate your skin more and causing more breakouts. Do the scrubbing only when your skin is neither red nor swollen to get rid off your dead skin cells and the deep scar left by the acne.
There is a natural product out there (ESTEBEL) that works wonder and can help you clean your pimple/acne away from your face and body. Other than skin care products you can also do the detoxification program as recommended from one of the famous e-book: Chris Gibson acne free in 3 days. You actually barely touch the skin surface to take off excess oil and dead skin cell). If you push your hand too hard the skin will be irritated more and causing more acne Use a circular spiral movement upward from the middle of your chin to the lower part of the ear. Natural Acne Treatment – 5 Points You Have To Take Care Of
Conventional treatments for acne are many times successful. These treatments include cleansing lotions made with benzoyl peroxide, creams or gels made with vitamin A, and antibiotic medications taken orally or applied to the skin. However, it is very important to consider the risk of scarring when choosing a certain treatment. Natural acne treatments are both efficient and cost effective and they reduce the risk of scarring. These treatments include a balanced diet, vitamins and nutritional supplements, herbs and bodywork.
Diet
A died based mostly on whole and unprocessed food is often beneficial for people who suffer from acne. Try to eat vegetables at least five times a day and fruits at least once. Refined sugar should be avoid it. You should also avoid fried foods, trans fats, such as milk or margarine and hydrogenated vegetable oils. It is recommended to consume foods that contain omega-3 oils, such as sardines or flax seeds. There are also some opinions claiming that chocolate, coffee, salt, shellfish, wheat products and carbonated drinks increase acne.
It is also important to drink a lot of water. You should try to have at list 8 glasses of water each day. Fiber intake is also recommended. In addition to fruits and vegetables, you should also eat whole grain. Some people claim that a liver detox diet from one to four weeks based on fruits and vegetables helps with acne.

Acne Skin Care Products – 6 Time-tested Tips To Battle Acne
1. Things to Keep in Mind
The biggest thing to keep in mind when shopping around for acne skin care products right for you is that everyone’s skin reacts differently to various products. There are many different kinds of acne skin care products to choose from with widely different ingredients and formulas. If you have acne prone skin, your skin will probably tend to me more sensitive to the various chemicals you may wind up using. You should take it easy when trying out various acne skin care products. Check for a bad reaction before you cover your entire face.
Remember, what works for others may not work for you. The only way to find out for sure if it will work for you is to try an acne skin care product and see for yourself.
2. Facial Cleansers
Probably the most often-used acne skin care products are various facial cleansers. Try and find one that is gentle to your skin, and matched to your skin type. Oily skin needs different care than dry skin, for example. It is important to use a different kind of soap for your face than your body; most body soaps tend to be too harsh for use on your face, especially if you have active acne. But whatever you choose to use, stay with it. Changing to different chemicals or formulas, especially after using one specific brand of acne skin care product for a while, can cause more harm than good. And be careful of skin toners! They can dry your skin out, making you more prone to acne. If you use a toner, you should also consider using a moisturizer.
3. Moisturizers
If you are using any acne skin care products with benzoyl peroxide, you should consider using a moisturizer, since it tends to dry your skin. Most wipes and some facial cleansers contain ingredients such as salycylic acid that can also dry your skin, so you should use a moisturizer as well.
4. Razors
Regardless of whether you use a bladed razor or an electric of some type, you must be very careful to avoid damaging your skin, especially if you have active acne. Keep the blades clean, and avoid cutting any blemishes you may have. The bacteria that cause acne can easily infect any razor nicks. The use of shaving cream can help prevent further irritating the skin. Whichever type of razor you use, you must be careful to avoid spreading or worsening your skin condition.
5. Healthy Inside, Healthy Out
Since acne is a bacterial infection, anything that boosts the body’s ability to fight off infection can help keep you acne free and reduce the healing time of any acne you may have already. Taking a good multivitamin rich in vitamins a and c help your immune system, while vitamins B6 and E, for example, are good for your skin. Foods with lots of sulfur such as garlic and onions can help speed the recovery time of any acne you may have.
6. Final Thoughts
With such a bewildering array of acne skin care products out there, it may save you time and effort to go see a dermatologist. They can make recommendations based on their experience and point you towards the products that are right for you. They can also give you advice on proper use of any products they may recommend.
